How to request deletion

SwapGenie is published by Nikola Dimovski (sole proprietor, Serbia). All deletion requests are handled personally.

  1. Email us Send an email to hello@swapgenie.app from the email address linked to your SwapGenie account.
  2. Use one of these subjects Delete my account — removes everything.
    Delete my data — keeps your account, wipes scan history and profile.
    Export my data — sends you a copy of everything on file.
  3. Confirm your identity We may ask you to confirm the request from the same email you signed up with, so we can be sure the request is really from you.
  4. We take care of it You'll get a confirmation email once your data is deleted — usually within a few business days, always within 30 days.
Haven't installed the app yet? If you only joined the waitlist on this website, email us the same way and we'll remove your email from the waitlist and analytics records.

What gets deleted vs kept

When you request full account deletion, here's exactly what happens to your data:

Deleted

  • Your account and profile
  • Email address and username
  • Preference profile (ingredients to skip, dietary preferences, taste goals)
  • Scan history and product logs
  • Saved swaps and favorites
  • Device identifiers linked to your account
  • Support conversation history

Kept

  • Anonymized, aggregate usage statistics that cannot be tied back to you
  • Financial records required by Serbian tax and accounting law (retained up to 10 years)
  • Records required to defend against legal claims, if any exist at the time of deletion

Timeline

We aim to complete every request within a few business days. By policy, all deletion requests are fully processed within 30 days of receipt, in line with GDPR and CCPA/CPRA requirements.

Backups may retain deleted data for up to an additional 60 days before they are overwritten. During this window, your data is not accessible to any application or staff, and is not used for any purpose.

Questions or problems

If you don't receive a confirmation within 5 business days, or if you have any questions about what happens to your data, just reply to your original email or send a new one to hello@swapgenie.app.
